Peerhub 2

Peerhub turns a PeerTube site into part of the Blurt world. Viewers sign in with their Blurt account, upvote and tip videos and comments, and creators earn BLURT for what they publish. Comments and follows work across Blurt and the fediverse, videos are imported from other sites, and every channel gets a Podcasting 2.0 feed.

Peerhub 2 is a full rebuild for PeerTube 8.3.1 and later. It needs no changes to PeerTube itself.

Status: in development. Not ready for production sites yet.

What is in this repository

Folder What it is
packages/keystore Turns 12 words, a keyfile or a posting key into Blurt keys, on the person's own device. Shared with Morphit, so the same 12 words and keyfiles work in both.
packages/blurt Talks to the Blurt chain: builds and signs transactions, signs sign-in messages, switches between nodes when one is down.
packages/peertube-plugin-peerhub The PeerTube plugin itself.
peerhub-setup.sh, ops/ Sets up a whole Peerhub site on a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 server with one command. See docs/RUN-A-PEERHUB-SITE.md, or, at home on an old PC or laptop on Tor and I2P only, docs/RUN-AT-HOME.md.
scripts/dev Helpers for testing against a local PeerTube.

For developers

You need Node 22.12 or newer and pnpm 10.

pnpm install
pnpm check

pnpm check runs the type checks, all tests and the build. The plugin ends up in packages/peertube-plugin-peerhub/dist.

To try it on a local PeerTube, install it from disk in Administration > Plugins/Themes, or with scripts/dev/reinstall.sh.
